● Project requirements
The lighting system must meet the needs of roads, dome, and emergency lighting in the entrance, transition, intermediate, and exit sections of the Dajiaoshan Tunnel. This includes ensuring that the entrance and transition areas employ tiered adaptive lighting to eliminate the "black hole/white hole" effect and guarantee smooth visibility for drivers entering and exiting. Simultaneously, the overall lighting system must comply with national tunnel/road lighting standards and incorporate integrated intelligent control, high energy efficiency, and convenient operation and maintenance.

The tunnel lights have power ratings of 20W, 30W, 50W, 100W, and 200W, with different power ratings used in different sections of the tunnel. There are a total of 2,700 pcs.

100W is used for tunnel dome lighting, and 400W is used for tunnel entrance relief lighting, totaling 1800 pieces.
● Program communication and confirmation process
Through thorough communication regarding lighting brightness, intelligent control methods, dome effects, and on-site inspections, KML understood the client's needs. After several rounds of discussions, KML ultimately developed a comprehensive lighting solution for the Dajiaoshan Tunnel project team, addressing aspects such as illuminance and uniformity across different tunnel sections, lighting color temperature, and intelligent control. It's worth noting that the client's original design for the tunnel dome lighting consisted of 1560 projector lights using DMX512 control. Following our recommendation, the project switched to our FL05-100 floodlights, featuring a 13000K color temperature, a 30° beam angle, dimmable control, and symmetrical illumination on both sides, creating a blue halo around the dome. This resulted in a better, clearer, and more aesthetically pleasing lighting effect, significantly reducing lighting costs for the client and earning high praise.

The luminaires have a luminous efficacy of up to 140 lm/w. The tunnel uses a 70°x140° narrow light distribution, which is designed for tunnel road lighting, increasing brightness by 50% and achieving uniformity far exceeding project requirements.
